Elections 2024 Part 4 Voting: Greater than 19 lakh polling officers have been deployed.

The fourth section of voting for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections begins right now in 96 Lok Sabha constituencies throughout 10 states and Union Territories. A complete of 1,717 candidates are within the fray on this section.
At 3 pm, 52.6% voter turnout was recorded throughout 10 states and union territories. Polling is being held in all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, all 25 seats in Andhra Pradesh, 13 in Uttar Pradesh, 5 in Bihar, 4 in Jharkhand, eight in Madhya Pradesh, 11 in Maharashtra, 4 in Odisha, eight in West Bengal and one in Jammu and Kashmir.
Voting can be happening within the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency and it’s the first main election in Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. Voting is concurrently be held in all 175 Meeting seats in Andhra Pradesh and 28 in Odisha within the fourth section.
Greater than 19 lakh polling officers have been deployed at 1.92 lakh polling stations for the over 17.70 crore eligible voters on this spherical.
Outstanding candidates within the fray are Samajwadi Social gathering chief Akhilesh Yadav, Union minister Giriraj Singh, TMC’s firebrand chief Mohua Moitra and AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi, Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, former cricketer Yusuf Pathan of TMC, Andhra Pradesh Congress president YS Sharmila amongst others.
The Lok Sabha elections are being held throughout seven phases, from April 19 to June 1. The counting is scheduled for June 4.

Asaduddin Owaisi
The four-time MP from Hyderabad, AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi, is contesting from his household stronghold Hyderabad, which was represented by his father Salahuddin Owaisi for 20 years, from 1984-2004. Whereas the Congress and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi have fielded Mohammad Waliullah Sameer and Gaddam Srinivas Yadav from the seat, Mr Owaisi’s most-talked-about opponent is the BJP’s Kompella Madhavi Latha.
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury
Of the eight West Bengal seats going to polls within the third section is Baharampur, the fort of Congress chief in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. A five-time MP from the seat, Mr Chowdhury is thought to carry appreciable clout within the north Bengal constituency. This time, he’s up towards the BJP’s Nirmal Kumar Saha and Trinamool’s choose, former cricketer Yusuf Pathan.
Mahua Moitra
The firebrand Trinamool Congress chief, who was expelled as an MP final December within the cash-for-query case, is contesting once more from West Bengal’s Krishnanagar, which elected her within the 2019 election. The seat has been with the Trinamool Congress since 2009.
